Received the ring in the mail yesterday. It is lovely. Handmade, simple and sweet - the perfect symbol of my committed relationship. Popped it right on. Fits nicely. Photo coming soon.
The stepfather noticed only hours later at the dinner table. Asked if I’d gotten married. Said yes. Left it at that. I think he probably choked back further questioning, which I allowed for. Creative genius is hard for him to understand sometimes.
The mom mentioned it this morning. She is not pleased. *Sigh* Hopefully over time she will come to see what a great couple me and myself make.
Anyway, I’ve very much enjoyed married life for the last 12 hours. This morning I watched the guy at the car repair place make notice of it. Success! I am engaged!
